2.2 L1x: Frame measures

L10

=

Vehicle overhang in the front

Distance from the outmost vehicle part in the front to the wheelbase of the 1. axle. Is corresponding to the front overhang length after DIN 70020. The measure L10 is independent of the number of axles.

L11

=

Frame overhang at the rear

Distance from the outmost rear edge of the frame rail profile to the wheelbase of the last axle. The measure L11 and the presentation are independent of the number of axles. Other overlaying parts, like e.g. an end cross member which overlays behind the end of the frame rail profile, are not counted among the frame overhang.

L12

=

1. wheel centre to 1. bend in the frame

Distance from wheel base 1. axle to 1. bend in the frame. Frame viewed from top.

L13

=

1. wheelbase to 2. bend in the frame

distance from 1. axle to 2. bend in the frame. Frame viewed from top.

L14

=

Frame length behind the cab

After DIN 70020, part 1, usable frame length from the trailing edge of the cab to the end of the frame rail. Overhanging parts, e.g. motor, coupling, gearbox, mudguard etc., are not considered. In contrast are considered parts which are installed at the cab, as e.g. air inlet, fluid container. The measure L14 and the presentation are independent of the number of axles.

L15

=

Trailing edge of the end cross member to wheel centre last axle

The measure L15 and the presentation are independent of the number of axles.

L16

=

Trailing edge of the end cross member to centre of trailer coupling pin

The measure L16 and the presentation are independent of the number of axles.
