MANTED-Home und Flash animation 

You can find a Flash animation at the MANTED homepage. Passing this page it is possible that your pc connects to the internet, by activating the flash player installed in your web browser. These connection is an update trial of Adobe flash player. If you use MANTED from an internal network, there could be an additional security prompt (user name, password) during this process.

Browser compatibility of MANTED

MANTED supports Internet Explorer version 6 an higher, Fire Fox version 3 and higher and other web browsers.

The page 'user administration' provides you the feature to register your data resp. to modify it after registration.

A user registration is necessary, if you need drawings and/or technical data from the MANTED^® modules such as 'Select Vehicles', 'Cab Drawings', 'Exhaust Drawings', 'Gearboxes',  'Shopping Cart', 'Guide To Fitting Bodies' etc. 

To make especially the new registration as possible easy, comfortable and fast, we offer the following procedure:

You fill in the following mandatory boxes within the menu 'User Administration' (mandatory boxes in the user administration are labeled with *):

• account name
  (Please fill in here an arbitrary name with at least 4 characters/numerals.)
• company name or name of the organisation
• country ID: Please select your country in this field. If it is not included in the list, please select "other country..." at the end of the list.
• According your company (general company data) we need the following information:
• town
• street and no.
• postcode
• post office box
• phone: Indicate in this field the general phone number of your company. Please note the hints regarding the phone and fax numbers. 
• fax: Indicate in this field the general fax number of your company. Please note the hints regarding the phone and fax numbers. 
• email 

• Furthermore we need the following personal data (contact data):
• title
• surname
• firstname
• degree
• department
• your e-mail address within your company (please notice correct spelling, because in other case no passwort can be sent to you, explanation see below) 
• repeated e-mail
• phone: Please indicate here your personal phone number within your company. Please don't fill in your private phone number. Please note the hints regarding the phone and fax numbers. 
• fax: Please indicate here your personal fax number within your company. Please don't fill in your private fax number. Please note the hints regarding the phone and fax numbers.

For company locations outside Germany the international country code is needed additionally. For example:

Our password generator calculates your personal password and sends the result immediately to you by email, if you leave your email address. This procedure normally takes only a few minutes up to an hour in maximum and works at each day or nighttime, also outside business hours. To use this procedure, you should implicitly consider the correct and complete spelling of your email address. Our computer doesn't know, if you've written your email correctly and assignes your connection to the indicated email in any case. With the start password generated by us you will have 10 days time to use all MANTED^® modules. Within this period you change your password to a term which is only known to you with at least 4 characters/numerals and you are permanent MANTED^® user.

You can modify your user data,  if you are already registered. In this case you will get within the corresponding fields all data you stored in the MANTED^® database. You can modify all data. Please note that your account name must be unique within MANTED^® . If your account name already exists you have to choose a new one. Furthermore you have the opinion to modify your password, to log off or to modify your personal settings via this page.

 To get data sheets or drawings of vehicles, please fill in the corresponding list boxes with the required data. Due to an intelligent user interface is guaranteed that you will be supported optimal in vehicle selection. 

After each selection of an offered value within a list box the application accesses to the database, to respond interactive to the indications. Thus the page is built-on new after each selection and contains then the following new comfortable features:

• Via the link 'personal settings' you will attain to a page where you can set personal defaults in MANTED^® . 
• The number of the current selectable vehicles is displayed red. So you can see whether it makes sense to enter further criteria or not.
• Boxes, which allow a selection, are initially labeled with a '*'. Here you can choose from several values regarding to your requirements. With the selection the page is built-on new automatically. Into all other list boxes now you only have to fill in the values, which fit to your presettings.
• Boxes, which allow only one value, are filled in automatically (e.g.: If you choose "XXL" for cab, the computer filles in the type series "TGA".).
• If already less variants are chosen than hits per site are displayed corresponding to your 'personal settings', the next page with the tabular display is built-on.
• The spelling of the code number is corrected automatically, so it is irrelevant, whether you enter the code number with or without dots, bars etc. (e.g. "81.99" or "81-99" or "8199",...), a search with "*" doesn't work within this box.
• Within the boxes for the basic vehicle number and for the wheelbases you can fill in arbitrary data here also so called "wildcards", such as e.g. "5*" instead of "5000" are possible.
• If a whish doesn't produce any hit inspite of all selection functions, the last made insert is rejected and the last but one selection state is offered for further works.

If you click on "Inquiry" you will get your hits in a tabular format sorted ascending by vehicle designation (and possibly further criteria). A click on "Reset" resets all indications. If you want to reset only single boxes, you should use the always offered "*" function.

The tabular hit display is an ascending list of the chosen variants. As the situation may be there is the possibility to scroll a page forwards or backwards. The number of lines to display per page you can adjust via the link 'personal settings' within the corresponding menu pages.

Via tabular displays you get a variety of interaction features with MANTED^®.  In almost all tabular displays you have the the possibility to take your selection into the shopping cart zu resp. to remove it.  For this please activate or deactivate the box "Into the shopping cart" within the corresponding table row. Shopping cart settings remain stored, even if you log off from MANTED^®.

Depending on the table content the single cells contain the following links:

You can display the action based on a link if you move the mouse pointer onto the link. After a short time there will come up a small window, which gives you an information about the link target.

With the shopping cart function you don't get chassis, cabs etc. The shopping cart is simply a kind of clipboard. Here you can park drawings and data sheets until you carry out the transfer of data and/or drawings of the selected variants e.g. following to your online inquiry. You have the following options:

• View technical data sheet (if applicable also print): Within the tables which are displayed in the shopping cart the functionalities of the 'tabular view' are widely available. 

• Load technical data of the selected vehicles (ASCII file),
• Load technical data of all vehicles (ASCII file, is transmitted in compressed form),
• Load drawings with file format "dxf", "dwg" or "dwf" (are transmitted in compressed form), this serves for the further processing with CAD programs or for viewing the drawings inline with your browser (dwf format). For that a plugin by "Autodesk" is required. For this please compare the information for "Drawing window".

The page 'Personal settings' is to reach from several MANTED^® pages. Here you can make the following settings:

• MANTED^® can inform you about news via email.
• If you want to display drawings, 2 viewing modes are available.
  
  1. The display is carried out as pdf document. To use this, on your computer the Acrobat reader must be installed.
  2. The display is carried out with a plugin by the company "Autodesk". For this please compare the information for "Drawing window".
     
• For the tabular listing of chassis, cabs etc. you can adjust the number of lines which should be displayed on each page.
  
• The switch 'Reset to default settings' restores the default settings.

In the drawing window you find an online presentation of the corresponding drawing. At the left upper corner there is a link for closing this window.

Via the link 'change personal settings ...' you can set the viewing mode of the drawing as pdf or as dwf document.

For viewing the CAD drawing in dwf format a plugin program by Autodesk^® is required. Users of Internet Explorer need the "Design Review"-plugin by Autodesk^®. The plugin will be downloaded and installed automatically at the first visit of a MANTED^® drawing page (download size 36 MB). This can take several minutes. If no drawing is visible after loading the page, please close all open Internet Explorer windows and restart the browser. Furthermore you can download the current plugin from our "Download" page or from the Autodesk^® pages (http://www.autodesk.com). The older plugin "Whip" by Autodesk^® is no longer needed.

If you want to view the drawings as pdf format, the Acrobat reader must be installed on your computer.

Data which you send us here we receive via the email address info.manted@man.eu and will be advised by the colleagues of the Engineering Vehicle Truck Application Engineering department.

In MANTED^® regularly you will find newsletters. Via the link "Newsletter", within the MANTED^® navigation you get the list of all available newsletters.

All documents are offered in Englisch and German. Identical contents are represented by identical newsletter names. For example there is a difference between MANTED-Newsletter_DE_150608.pdf and MANTED-Newsletter_EN_150608.pdf only related to the language, but not to the content. The indication 150608 represents the date when the newssletter was provided, in this case June 8th 2015.

New newsletters you can identify by the label "new" behind the document or by the display "1 new" within the MANTED^®-navigation.

Via the selection 'smaller' / 'larger' you define, whether output torques are to consider, which are smaller / larger than your chosen value. Please define first the value 'smaller/larger'. Here the page will not be built-on automatically. Only after the selection of a concrete value for output torque the content of the page will be calculated new.

To work with manted an announcement is required.  The necessary account name you define within the area 'User administration'. The password you will get after registration via email. You can modify the password anytime. Within the registration it is irrelevant whether you use upper or lower case for the password as well as for the account name.

If you wish to modify you password, first you must fill in your current password into the box 'old password' for safety reasons. Then you enter your 'new password' and repeat this within the box 'repeated password'. If the both new password are identic, they will be stored into the MANTED^® database. With your next login to MANTED^® you must use the new password .

Automatic "and" searching
 The MANTED^® search engine shows only results which contain all given search terms. Therefore you needn't indicate an "and" operator (AND) between the search terms.

Searching of word groups
You may initiate a search for word groups by adding of quote marks. Then only such results will be presented, which contain exactly this words in the indicated order. 

Exclusion of words
You may exclude a word from the search process by a minus sign ("-") directly placed ahead of this word. Ahead of a minus sign you must indicate a space.

Alternative search
The MANTED^® search engine works with the automatic "and" search. Therefore you must indicate the "or" operator (OR) between the search terms for searching alternatives.

Limit the search to dedicated languages
Within the comfort search you can determine in which language you want to browse the MANTED^® web portal. For that select the languages you wish. Your MANTED^® display language is already preselected. In the case you select no language, this language is used for the search.
The language selection for the fast search within the menu area corresponds to your MANTED^® display language.
